Abstract

Ecocriticism is a literary theory that studies environmental themes in literature the natural environment and the relationship between human and nature. Its purpose is to examine how various literary texts depict environmental issues, the impact of human activities and portray nature. Ecocriticism is a method of literary criticism that analyses the relationship between literature, culture and environmental concerns. It seeks to understand how human experiences can be conveyed in relation to the natural environment and how the natural world is represented in literature. Hijaab Imtiyaaz Ali is a prominent novelist in Urdu literature. In her novel “Paagal Khaana” she vividly reflects all aspects of environmental criticism.
