This research study critically analyzes the future of primary Urdu education in the context of 21st-century skills, digital technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). Primary education serves as the foundational bedrock for cognitive development and linguistic proficiency. However, traditional pedagogical methods in primary Urdu language teaching often fail to integrate critical thinking, creative problem-solving, digital literacy, and adaptive AI-driven learning frameworks. Using a descriptive-analytical and qualitative research methodology, this paper investigates the structural challenges, curricular gaps, and technological integration issues within Urdu primary pedagogy. The findings reveal that while digital tools and AI applications offer transformative potential for personalized language learning and interactive vocabulary building, systemic issues—such as limited digital infrastructure, lack of teacher training, and inadequate Urdu digital content—hinder effective implementation. The study concludes with strategic recommendations for policy makers and educators to modernize primary Urdu curricula, train educators in educational technology, and leverage AI to build an inclusive, future-ready native language learning ecosystem.
