Abstract

Neo-Historiscim is one of the Post-modernism literary theory developed by Stephen Green Blott. Its  roots in Michel Focuault and Louis Althusset’s criticism. Neo-historicism infact explores those grand narratives in the literary texts that are existed in the external scenario of that specific period. This theory urges to read texts with its cultural, historical, political and social contexts. In Urdu literature Gopi Chand Narrang, Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyar and Prof. Atiq Ullah have used this theory in their criticism. At global perspective, Edward Said, Franz Fenin and Shashi Thoror are notable names. Literature and history both are co-related as both derive their material from society and culture
